A Look At Technology’s Role On How To Stop Snoring
Stop Snoring Aids Are Synonymous For their use as snoring remedies, but a recent craze in technology is raising eyebrows as more and more families are coming out to report how their partner’s snoring keeps them awake all night.
A damning report says that nearly Ninety million Americans snore. According to the recently published National Sleep Foundation report, if you or your partners snores, you are 10 times more likely to wake up and drive to work on the same level of a drink and drive driver.
The report says if your partner snores, you are more likely to crash or cause a serious road accident due to lack of quality sleep.
Does your partner snore at night?
If you sleep next to one of those snorers, then you should know that you suffer too.
“Some have coined the term ‘secondhand snorer’s disease,’” sleep specialist Dr. Joseph Ojile told “Good Morning America” about the sleep disruption those partners endure. “It’s not an official diagnosis, but it’s a term. They become irritable.”
Before we look at CPAP and other anti snoring devices to try and stop snoring, we should mention the health concerns about sleep apnea are real. Many snorers suffer from the disease and should be tested. The Sleep Apnea Association has a website to help you determine if your snoring is a sign of apnea. A reporter for GMA said: I’ve been tested twice in the course of my reporting for “Good Morning America” and I don’t have apnea, but boy do I see some logs.
An anti snoring gadget that works to aid people with sleep apnea. Another good example of its kind is the Philips’s Travel mate. Designed with traveling patient needs in mind, DreamStation Go is the product of over 30 years of sleep therapy innovation. The discreet, slim-profile device weighs less than 2 pounds and features a built-in power supply that helps to limit the number of components to pack. Philips’ new 12 mm micro-flexible tubing continues the compact trend across the holistic system, minimizing bulk while improving mobility and comfort. DreamStation Go meets FAA standards for in-flight use, so users can keep up with therapy even when taking an extended or red-eye flight.
So back to the question: Is there anything we can do to alleviate snoring for the sake of our spouses and partners?

First, assess how bad it is. I have been in denial about my snoring, but trying out different snoring apps for this story has disabused me of the notion that I only mildly snore. I tried multiple snoring apps and settled on Snore Lab as the one I liked best. The free version works by accessing your phone’s microphone, then with the app running you place it face down on your bedside table. In the morning, it graphically shows the most significant snoring events that transpired during the night and lets you listen to them. I had no idea my snoring was this bad.
Honey, I am so sorry!
The premium version of the app offers some other tools that let you note corresponding events like being overtired or excessive drinking. It also records multiple nights of sleep and offers coaching tips. My favorite part about the app is that it ranks your snoring compared to other users and also qualifies the volume of your snoring: mild, loud and EPIC! I was only in the “loud” category, which makes me feel true empathy for anyone who sleeps with an “EPIC” snorer.
